Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from University Paris XI in 1990. She wrote her thesis on structural metallurgy: the
creep behavior of copper alloys. She worked in industry as a development engineer in welding and brazing processes,
leveraging her knowledge and background in chemistry and metallurgy. Afterwards she worked as product marketing manager
in the dental equipment industry where she has been particularly active in the field of dental prophylaxis. Corinne
also earned a (Swiss) Federal Diploma in Marketing in 2005. She is a French native and is also fluent in German and English.
Ms. Judith King has close to 20 years of professional experience. She received her
Bachelor of Science from MIT in Materials Science & Engineering in 1988,
and has worked for a range of companies in this field since then. She also
earned an MBA from Babson College in 1998. She has been particularly active in the fields of semiconductors and thin films,
both from a technology development point of view as well as marketing
activities. She also has extensive experience assisting high-tech companies
with marketing, product positioning and sales activities.
Ms. King is focusing her activities within Baverstam Associates on client communications and
relationships. She is also available to assist in executing projects and to
manage specific projects as a project leader. Ms. King was born in the
Northeast of the US, but has traveled worldwide and can converse in French.
Dr. Antonio Makiyama received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the
University of Cambridge in the UK in 1997. He wrote his thesis on the design
of composite components of maximum stiffness and minimum weight. He worked
as a post doctoral researcher in the years 2000-2002 in the Material Science
and Engineering Department of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
After his graduation Dr. Makiyama taught in academia and conducted research
on the mechanical behavior of biomaterials, worked in the industry within the
field of design of bio-robots and biomedical devices. Dr. Makiyama received
his Master in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
He grew up in Brazil, where he received his Engineering degree in Marine
Engineering and Naval Architecture from University of São
Paulo.
He speaks Portuguese, Spanish, English and has a working proficiency in Japanese.
Dr. Maithri (Maya) Rao received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and
Engineering in 1997. Her thesis work focused on the deformation behavior of
iron-palladium and other magnetic alloys. She later worked at the Data Storage
Systems Center at Carnegie Mellon University, which involved close relationships
with a number of disk drive manufacturers and other electronic and semiconductor
related companies. Dr. Rao has published over a dozen scientific papers. Dr.
Rao has been with Baverstam Associates since 1998.
At Baverstam Associates, Dr. Rao’s work has focused on both technology
intelligence and market analysis, for components made from advanced materials
across several industries including automotive, packaging, manufacturing,
energy storage and power generation, chemical, polymers, composites,
nanotechnology and more. She has worked on over 40 projects and has earned
a strong reputation with Baverstam Associates clients.
Dr. Rao grew up in India and received her undergraduate degree in Physics
from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, India.
Ms. Ulla Ringblom has more
than 20 years of international professional experience in the areas of
petroleum processing, bio fuels and food packaging. During her career with
industry leaders, such as Shell International and Tetra Pak, she held positions
within R&D, project management and business development. She led the
application development of plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) on
polymers for beverage packaging at Tetra Pak.
Ulla has a M. Sc. in
Chemical Engineering from Chalmers Institute of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
She is based in Switzerland and supports Baverstam Associates with
international projects. Ulla speaks English, French and Swedish and has working
